Dates for your diary

Wednesday July 7, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. , HTM: Parish Day of Prayer . Pray for our parish! Pray for our community! The aim is to have a roster of half-hour ‘shifts', where we undertake to pray for our parish and all within its boundaries, our various churches and their communities, the prisons, missions and all we undertake and plan here. Consider whether you, maybe with a praying partner, can be in the church sometime that day to give thanks and bring before God all that we are and do. Julia welcomes inquiries; roster to sign in HTM.

Sunday July 11 Seafarers' Sunday. 5 p.m. HTM: Sing and socialise! Get know some of the songs in our hymnbook, and share refreshments together. This is not a choir practice; it's an informal time for the whole congregation, ‘the person in the pew', to have fun singing. (If you know someone who says ‘I'm not much of a singer', invite them!)

Monday July 12 , 2 p.m. : Roof restoration committee meeting.

Tuesday July 13 , HTM, 7.30 p.m. : Parish Council

Wednesday July 21, 10.30 a.m. at Rosalie's, Nelson St Maldon: coffee morning. (A social get-together rather than fund raiser; bring a friend)

Saturday July 31, 10 a.m.-3 p.m . , Glen Waverley Anglican Church, CMS Mission Focus Day ‘Connecting with Muslims'. Steve and Jenny Sonneman are among the speakers.

Parish nominators: appointments have been made which were pending at the Annual Meeting. Carlene Klas, Jenny Parker and Colin Freemantle, with supplementary nominators Julia Nutting, Marion Ward and Paul McDonald have been appointed until the 2011 APM.

Steve Watts will undergo surgery on his painful knee shortly and will be out of action for some while. You may not be aware of all he does for the parish, especially behind the scenes. His ministry includes Parish Council, opening and closing HTM, preparing the hall or church for different occasions and tidying up afterwards, cleaning the church most weeks, setting up for Sunday services, and much photocopying. We certainly wish him well and a speedy recovery. And while we're at it, THANK YOU Steve!

End of the tax year: donations to the Roof Restoration Fund for Holy Trinity Maldon are tax deductible. (Last opportunity this year!) If you would like to donate in this way, make your cheque out to National Trust (Vic) using the form at the back of HTM (envelope provided) and send to the Newstead address, and we will be happy to arrange official receipt.

New offertory envelopes are available for July onwards. They are dated and have a missionary section as well. See a sidesperson or warden to receive yours.

For The Mount : what have you noticed, done, heard or thought about that others might like to share? This month we have a ‘talking point' by Jean Vanier. If something catches your attention in the media or in your reading, think about sharing it. Next contributions to Julia by Wed. July 28.
